Sandy police chief placed on leave amid internal investigation

SANDY, Utah (News4Utah) – Sandy City chief of police was placed on leave Monday.

The city announced Police Chief Kevin Thacker was placed on administrative leave pending the completion of an internal investigation.

“Sandy City takes all personnel matter seriously,” read a statement released Wednesday afternoon.

It’s not clear what the investigation is about and city officials have declined to provide any more information.

“As a City it is of the utmost importance to protect the integrity of this investigation and all parties involved, therefore no further information can be provided at this time.”
