SANDY (ABC4 News) – Sandy City Council voted unanimously to launch an investigation amid recent water issues.
An outside entity will fully investigate the technical aspects, health effects, communication from city officials to the public and emergency response.
Council members couldn’t agree as to whether a citizens committee is needed. That vote was tabled.
Sandy City Mayor Kurt Bradburn said he favors as much investigation and oversight that is needed.
“I am very supportive of our city council assembling an independent investigation. I’m just as eager as the council to get to the bottom of what happened and learn how we can improve. I think it’s very important that this investigation be done independently from the council and administration so we can have a clear and unbiased understanding of how the event unfolded. It’s critical to our residents that they get a complete and transparent process,” said Bradburn.
