Sandy City considering banning pet stores from selling pets in stores unless they are rescues

SANDY (News4Utah)- The Sandy City Council is considering banning pet stores from selling dogs, cats and rabbits unless they were acquired from shelters or rescue groups.

According to the Humane Society of Utah more than 260 cities and counties in the U.S. have a similar ordinance in effect. 

Sandy residents are invited to attend the council meeting on Tuesday, May 1, at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall located at 10000 Centennial Parkway.
