Sandy City asking for more volunteers to collect water samples

SANDY, Utah (ABC4 News) – Sandy City officials need volunteers to help collect more water samples from the contaminated water incident

Each home in the affected area in Sandy needs testing, official say. Sandy City needs volunteers to donate their time for a few hours on Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m.

Volunteers will get a brief training and will go in pairs to assigned zones to make contact with residents who have not yet had their tap water tested.

Sandy City officials say there are still over 1,000 homes that need testing. Their goal is to contact 500 more residents in affected areas.

Volunteers are asked to RSVP on the Sandy City Facebook page so they how many zones and sample bottles to prepare.
