SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 Utah) – More than 1,200 flights were canceled because of Sunday’s massive power outage at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta; 14 of which connected to Salt Lake City.

Margo Watson’s Daughter Tabitha touched down in Atlanta just as the power crashed. She said her daughter’s plane just sat on the tarmac because without power, they couldn’t reach the gate.

Watson said, “Three and a half hours, no food no water, babies are crying. I called her, she said that they were worried about sanitation because the toilets were over flowing, no buses, no indication of what they were going to do. They wre just stuck there on the tarmac.”

Six flights are already canceled Monday between Salt Lake and Atlanta. The airport recommends you check your travel information soon and take advantage of one-time vouchers offered through Delta.
