Salt Lake County Library features Star Wars events in celebration of May the 4th

Local News

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah(News4Utah) It’s time for the County Library’s annual May the 4th event. It’s an evening at the Mos Eisley Cantina for costume and trivia contests, mocktails, refreshments and galactic games. Liesl Seborg and Liz Thompson from the Salt Lake County Library, joined Brian Carlson, to talk about the event.

This is the 3rd year for the popular event. Seborg says it’s an immersive experience that leaves you feeling like you’re in the Star Wars universe.

The event is free for those 18 and older. They do ask that you leave your younglings and padawans at home. You can get your tickets at SLCOLibrary.org/MayThe4th.

Costumes are encouraged!

The library will also show a free screening of “The People vs. George Lucas,” on May 3 at 7 p.m., in partnership with the Utah Film Center. The film delves into Lucas’s cultural legacy to ask who truly owns that galaxy far, far away.
