Salt Lake City’s Ethiopian community gathers for a New Year celebration

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (News4Utah) -Salt Lake City’s Ethiopian community gathers for a New Year Celebration at Sugar House Park on Saturday. The “Celebration Enkutatash” has food, music, artists and games for attendees of all ages.

Mayor Jackie Biskupski will offer a happy new year message to all Ethiopians living in Utah and their friends.

The program includes a coffee ceremony, Ethiopian songs, dances and music from Mesfin Yeteshaw, a famous Ethiopian singer who now lives in Washington, D.C.

Admission is free for all, the Ethiopian community invites everyone to come and welcome in their New Year.
