Salt Lake City unveils 8 new vehicle charging stations

Local News

On Earth Day, Salt Lake City took a step closer to reducing its carbon imprint.

The city unveiled eight new electrical vehicle charging stations.

It was a part of the celebration of Monday’s passing of the landmark Clean Energy Bill.

“The renewable energy act will help communities to be able to choose to go renewable and supply that energy source to their entire population,” said Mayor Jackie Biskupski.

Monday’s event is in partnership with state and local agencies as well as non-profits and Rocky Mountain Power.

With this unveiling, it brings Salt Lake City’s number of vehicle charging ports to 38 across the city as well as two dozen at the Salt Lake City International airport.

The latest set adds to a public and private network that includes Summit County and Park City.

The goal is to make it more accessible for residents to use all-electric vehicles while eliminating emissions pollution.
