WEBER COUNTY (News4Utah) – One man is dead after a crash on Powder Mountain Road in Weber County Thursday.

Weber County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to 5200 North Powder Mountain Road around 3:15 p.m. on the report of a single vehicle crash.

When they arrived, they found a street sweeper truck had rolled. The sole occupant, Justin Sheen, 38, of  Roy, had been ejected during the crash.

A medical helicopter responded to the scene, but Sheen was eventually pronounced dead.

Investigators determined the sweeper had drifted off the road where it went up on an embankment before rolling along the hillside and ejecting the man.

Witnesses told deputies they saw the sweeper traveling a high rate of speed, so investigators believe the sweeper likely had brake failure causing it to lose control on the steep graded stretch of highway.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
