Rosie Rivera sworn in as Salt Lake County Sheriff

SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) Salt Lake County has a new sheriff! Rosie Rivera was sworn in by the Salt Lake County Council Tuesday afternoon. 
In a historic moment, Rivera became the first female and first Hispanic sheriff in the county. 
Salt Lake County Democrats elected Rivera on Saturday to replace former Sheriff Jim Winder. He’s now the Chief of Police in Moab. 
Rivera will fulfill Winder’s term which expires at the end of 2018.
