SANDY (News4Utah) – As the nationwide debate over assault weapons and gun control continues, the Rocky Mountain Gun Show kicked off Saturday in Sandy.
It is one of the largest gun shows in the Beehive State, attracting dozens of vendors and thousands of hunters, self-defense advocates and recreational shooters.
The promoter of the show says that sales actually go up whenever gun control becomes an issue.
“These people here, 99 percent of them are responsible gun owners. They know how to handle a gun. They’ve had some kind of training,” Kaurosh Haroni told News4Utah. “Of course, any time you threaten to take people’s guns away, they pick up as we’re seeing right now.”
The gun show runs through Sunday at the Mountain America Expo Center in Sandy.
