Riverton City: Beware of woman trying to enter homes as city employee

RIVERTON, Utah (ABC4 News) – Riverton city says they have received reports of a woman claiming to be a city employee.

City officials say this is happening in the southeast quadrant of the city. The woman is reportedly asking to enter people’s homes to test their water. 

Authorities emphasized that she is not a city employee. 

Surveillance video from a Riverton resident appears to show the woman suspected in these incidents. The Unified Police Department is also assisting with the investigation on this incident. 

In a statement, the city said:

“City employees will never ask to enter a resident’s home to test their water unless previously invited by the resident. All city employees drive city-marked vehicles and almost always have uniforms bearing the city’s logo.”
