SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – Dozens of protesters gather downtown for a rally to protect the Robert Mueller investigation.
The Rally for the Rule of Law sends a message to Utah’s congressional delegation to prevent President Trump from compromising the inquiry into whether he colluded with Russians to influence the 2016 election.
This protest is part of a nationwide series of protests sparked by the firing of attorney general Jeff Sessions and the naming of Matthew Whittaker, a critic of the Mueller Probe, as acting attorney general.
“We need to know the full results of the investigation no matter what that is. Whether Trump is guilty or whether he is innocent we need the rule of law, the same thing that every person in this country has to go through. We need to make sure the President of the United States is held to the same standards as anybody else in this country.” says Jamie Carter, a protestor.
One of the groups organizing the rally, Salt Lake Indivisible, emphasize that the Rule of the Lae is not a artisan issue but the bedrock of our democracy.
