WEST VALLEY CITY (ABC4 News) – Police officers are asking shoppers to be extra cautious while chasing Black Friday deals; thieves are on the lookout for merchandise in cars.
Officers say security cameras offer little more than a false sense of security. Often cameras just don’t pick up enough identifying information for officers to make any headway in parking-lot theft cases.
They recommend that shoppers leave no indication of merchandise in their cars, drop off goods between stores, or enlist a friend to wait in the car with your purchased items.
