Pride Week kicks off in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY (News4Utah)- The city of Salt Lake officially kicked of “Pride Week” Wednesday morning.

Mayor Jackie Biskupski, staff from the Utah Pride Center, and volunteers from the Utah Pride Festival gathered at the Salt Lake City and County building for the raising of the annual Pride flag and Pride Week proclamation.

Utah Pride Festival events begin Wednesday night with the Real Salt Lake Pride Night. On Sunday thousands are expected to fill the streets of Salt Lake City for the Utah Pride Parade.

The festival will take place on both sides of Washington Square Park this weekend.
