PLEASANT GROVE (News4Utah)- Police in Pleasant Grove are warning parents to be attentive and remind their children about stranger danger after reports of a man approaching kids near an elementary school.

They say they talked to the man in the area of Valley View Elementary and he did not appear to have a reasonable explanation for being there.

“The officer suspected the man was there for nefarious purposes,” a post on the police department’s Facebook page said.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 40’s with a thin build,  brown hair and a long goatee beard. He was driving the 2011 Chevrolet pickup truck pictured here.

“We encourage parents to be alert and remind their children about safety around strangers,” officers stated.

If you see this individual or any other suspicious persons or vehicles contact dispatch at 801-785-3506.
