Police take 4 suspects into custody after an overnight high speed chase

WEST JORDAN, Utah (News4Utah) – A string of armed robberies may be linked to a police chase that ended in West Jordan Tuesday morning.

Police say three men went into the 7-Eleven off 1285 North Redwood Rd, pistol-whipped the clerk, took money and left.

About 25 minutes later police say there was another 7-Eleven robbed near 875 East and 400 South. As the night went on robberies in Magna, West Valley and again in South Jordan occurred.

Officials say the suspect description in all cases match. Four black men, likely late teens to early 20’s, dressed in dark clothing.

Officers spotted suspects in South Jordan attempt a traffic stop, suspects took off leading police on a chase with speeds topping 100 mph.

The chase ended on 78th South and Bangerter. Suspects got out of the car, hed a handgun and ran into a nearby neighborhood, authorities say.

Multiple police agencies set up containment in the area. K9’s tracked suspects to a backyard shed where 3 men were hiding, the other suspect in the backyard.

The four men were taken into custody. Two of them were adults, two were underage. Police have identified them as 23-year-old Larenz Proctor 23 and 18-year-old Noldon Oliver.
