Police: Suspect who shot and killed a 26-year-old in Orem has turned himself in

OREM, Utah (ABC4 News) – The suspect who shot and killed a 26-year-old in Orem has turned himself in, according to police.

The Orem Police Department stated in a Facebook post, Saturday morning that 19-year-old Elbert Paule, turned himself in and has been taken into custody.

Police say they received a call about a shooting at the Parkway Loft apartments at 1225 West 1000 South at 8 p.m. on Thursday. 

They found Dominique Barnett with “obvious gunshot wounds” and transported him to the hospital. He died of his injuries on Friday, according to officials. 

No other information on the suspect has been made available at this time.
