Police seeking Ogden man for questioning in Idaho triple murder

OGDEN (ABC4 Utah News) -The search is on for an Ogden man after three women were discovered murdered on property he owns in Caldwell, Idaho.

60 year old Gerald Michael Bullinger is a longtime resident of Ogden and a retired pilot for a Utah company but after the grisly discovery Monday police can’t find him or his wife.

The bodies of three women were found decomposing in a shed on property that Bullinger purchased on May 3rd. Canyon County Sheriff’s officials say each had a gunshot wound to the head and hey had been there for a few weeks. Neighbors say the victims had been living at the house.

Chief Deputy Marv Dashiell of the Canyon County Sheriff’s Department provided an update during a news conference Wednesday.

“The three deceased females appear to be consistent in age and physical stature as the females who were reported to be living at the location,” Deputy Dashiell said. “The age ranges from mid-teens to mid 50’s.”

Now police are desperate to speak to Bullinger and his 57 year old wife Cheryl Baker who were last seen a few weeks ago at their longtime home on Tyler Avenue in Ogden.

Sandy Hernandez lives next door.

“They were really nice people. Really good people,” Hernandez said. “They were always smiling. Yeah. They would always be outside with their dogs.”

Bullinger was a pilot for Classic Aviation and Baker worked as an art teacher, most recently teaching at Green Wood Charter School in Harrisville.

In a letter to parents Wednesday, school Director Jessie Kidd wrote: “We are saddened and concerned to learn about tragic news regarding
Mrs. Baker. We hold out for the best possible outcome…”.

According to Lieutenant Tim Scott of the Ogden Police Department, Bullinger is 6 foot 1, 240 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. Police think he could be driving a white 2007 Ford Focus with Utah license plate 129 UMP.

“It’s a triple homicide investigation,” Lt. Scott said. “This is a person of interest. Someone that they have identified as a person of interest so we’re going to use due caution. Law enforcement would use caution approaching him. We want the public not to approach at all, just dial 911 if you see this person.”

So far the only crime Bullinger is wanted for is Failure to Report a Dead Body to Law Enforcement. The investigation continues both in Canyon County, Idaho and in Utah.
