SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah (ABC4 Utah)-Police at the Unified Police Department say several overnight robberies may have been committed by the same suspects.
Most of the robberies took place at 7-Eleven. The first was in Millcreek at 2287 East 3300 South around 10:35 p.m. Sunday.
Police say three masked suspects assaulted a clerk outside smoking with a handgun. One of the suspects kept the clerk outside while the other two entered the store and stole cigarettes. The suspects all took off in a maroon Nissan Altima.
About 10 minutes later, two suspects dressed identical as the first robbers, robbed a Midvale 7-Eleven located at 6852 South State St. Police say one of the suspects threatened the clerk with a gun. The suspects took off on foot.
At least two of the suspects appear to be about 16 or 17 with dark complexions, police say. The first suspect was about 5’7” and 130 pounds. He had a gray shirt and shorts with black Nike shoes. He was wearing a red bandana over his face.
The second suspect was just a little bit shorter. Police say he had a black bandana over his face and was wearing a gray shirt with dark jeans and white shoes.
The third suspect description wasn’t as detailed, but officials say the suspect was wearing a red hat and a red bandana.
Officials at West Valley Police Department say it appears the suspects hit a 7-Eleven in their jurisdiction as well. Their actions were the same and descriptions matched. According to them Salt Lake police took one of those three suspects into custody after another robbery, but detectives at Unified Police Department haven’t confirmed which of the three.
Anyone with information about these robberies are asked to call police.
