SANDY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – A person is in the hospital in extremely critical condition after they being ejected from a car, police say. They are still searching for the driver of the car that caused the wreck.
According to Sandy Police, the incident happened near 9100 South and Sandy Parkway at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
One of the officers told ABC4 Utah that for an unknown reason, the driver took off after the wreck and left his passenger at the scene. Police say they know who the driver is, but after searching all night, they still can’t find him.
Police say they do not know what caused the wreck, but do say speed was a factor. At this time they are not ruling out drugs or alcohol.
