WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (News4Utah) – A verbal family dispute lead to a police response Sunday. Officials say the situation was dissolved and that family members were escorted from the home.

During the dispute the man mentioned a gun, scaring the family causing them to call police. The man told the cops he would not leave the home. Family members were safely escorted form the home and will not be staying elsewhere Sunday night.

The man inside the home is not a threat to himself or others. Charges are leaning towards disorderly conduct and intoxication said Lt. Amy Maurer of the West Valley City Police Department.

The man remains in the home refusing to exit.
