Police: Man robbed, shot at, trying to sell pot online

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – A man involved in a hit and run told police he had been robbed and shot at after attempting to sell marijuana to strangers he met online late Tuesday night. 

According to a press release, officers responded on a hit and run around 11:31 p.m. in the area of 700 North 900 West. When officers were able to locate the suspect, they found out the man had hit several parked cars as he fled the area due to being robbed. 

The man told officers he met two men on social media and had arranged to sell them marijuana. When they met, the men took the victim’s marijuana and backpack and then fired a handgun as the victim resisted.

Police said the bullet struck the victim’s vehicle. As he drove away, he hit several parked cars.  

The first suspect is described as approximately Hispanic, approximately 18 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin build and buzzed hair. He was wearing a black hoodie with pink and orange design. 

The second suspect is described as Hispanic, in his early 20s, wearing a gray hoodie and armed with a handgun.
