Police make arrest in shooting of 14-year-old boy

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – West Valley City police have arrested a man in connection with the shooting death of a 14-year-old boy. 
Romeo Rodriguez was shot in the face in the early morning hours of August 3. He died at the hospital later that afternoon. 
Investigators arrested Frank Tsinnijinnie, 18, Wednesday. Tsinnijinne was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail  on a charge of murder.

The shooting happened in the area of 1330 West Rothchild Drive. Police say Rodriguez had been a passenger in a vehicle occupied by multiple people. Rodriguez and his associates had encountered another group of people and as a result of this encounter, at least one shot was fired which struck Rodriguez. 
Police believe the confrontation began as a result of perceived gang affiliation.
