WEST JORDAN, Utah (News4Utah) Police in West Jordan are searching for three males who broke into a garage in West Jordan and assaulted the teen inside Saturday morning.

According to West Jordan Police Sgt. Dan Roberts, a 16-year-old teen was inside a detached garage just before 4 a.m. at a home near 3750 West Sumter Drive when three adult males broke down the door, assaulted the teen by hitting him with a gun, then stole items from him.

Roberts said as the suspects fled the area, they fired several rounds at the house.

The teen was taken to the hospital by his family where he was treated for minor injuries.

Roberts said they do not have any descriptions of the three males that would help identify them but are asking for anyone who might have information to call West Jordan Police at 801-840-4026
