Police looking for suspect who shot at a homeless man in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (News4Utah) – Police are on the lookout for someone that shot at a homeless man and then drove away.
 
Salt Lake City Police say they heard “shots fired” at 2:30 a.m. Friday near 800 South and State Street.
 
When they responded, a homeless man told them someone drove up to him in a white Nissan Altima, yelled something and then started shooting. 
 
The victim was able to give police a description of the car. The Altima was spotted by officers near 500 South and West Temple. Before they sped away from authorities, officers were able to get their license plate number. 
 
Salt Lake City Police say they are looking for a 2015 white Nissan Altima with the license plate W857BX.
