OREM, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – A woman is recovering after being shot twice on her front porch Thursday night according to Orem Police.

Police say the person who did it is still out there.

“She was approaching her own door and was shot as she was trying to enter her own house,” says Lieutenant Trent College with the Orem Police Department.

The shooting happened in the area of 1810 West 795 South.

“It appears she was shot as she was approaching or at her front door.  She was able to tell us she saw somebody with a motorcycle helmet on and that’s the most suspect information that we have right now,” says Lt. College.

Detectives say the woman was shot in the back and leg. She was rushed to an area hospital where police say she is stable.

“People should still use caution if they are in this area,” says the Lieutenant. “Then we are trying to develop any suspect information and follow up on any possible leads we might have.”

The woman was rushed to the hospital where she is recovering.

Detectives are working to talk to witnesses and watch any video available that can give them more information on the suspect.

Officers tell us they don’t know what kind of motive this person has for shooting the woman at her doorstep.

We will continue to follow developments in this case and bring you the latest as soon as it’s available.
