SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah (ABC4 News) – Police arrested an intoxicated man who knocked over a Christmas tree and shot several rounds from a gun at his roommates on Sunday in Summit County.
Deputies said Randal Weed Dickinson, 56, was highly intoxicated at a home located on Spring Hollow Road.
The homeowner and his son were in the kitchen of the home when Dickinson came out of his room and fell into the Christmas Tree, knocking it over. The roommates then told him to go back into his room.
As the roommates started to walk from the kitchen to the backdoor, gunfire started from behind them.
Dickinson shot approximately 15 rounds from a handgun at the two. The bullets hit appliances and went through walls, but no one was actually hit with gun fire. When the firearm ran empty, Dickinson was subdued by the roommates until deputies arrived.
Deputies said there was no apparent confrontation prior to Dickinson knocking over the Christmas Tree.
He transported to a hospital for injuries sustained during the incident then later transported to the Wasatch County Jail where he was booked for first-degree felony discharge of a firearm (2), second-degree felony criminal mischief, third-degree felony aggravated assault (2) and misdemeanor charges of intoxication and carrying a dangerous weapon under the influence.
