SALT LAKE CITY (News4Utah)- The Salt Lake City Police Department is asking the public for help in tracking down three suspects from an attempted robbery Monday night.

Police say they entered the Family Dollar located at 855 South State Street and waited for customers to leave the store. One of the suspects then placed on bag on the checkout counter, pulled out a handgun, and threatened the clerk, investigators said.

The clerk told the suspect that she needed a manager to access the money and soon after the suspect took off without any money,  a press release stated.

The first suspect is seen on surveillance video with a white top and black spandex shorts. Police say it appears she is a Polynesian woman in her 20’s.

They say the second woman is a black woman also in her 20’s wearing a brown leather jacket and faded jeans with holes.

Investigators aren’t sure if the third suspect is a man or woman, but they say they had dark corn rows down the center and “loose on the sides”.

The third suspect had a mustache and a purple backpack, they said.
