SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah (ABC4 Utah)- Some more information has been released after a woman was shot while visiting a friend in South Salt Lake last month.
Charges have been filed against Morgan Dwayne Winger, 32. Police say on July 23rd he fired rounds into an apartment complex at 400 East 2700 South hitting a woman inside.
“[The victim] was sitting in a recliner in her friend’s apartment…when she heard gun shots and felt pain in her leg and abdomen,” court documents say.
A witness outside during the shooting told police moments before the shooting she saw Winger stumble out of the building because someone sprayed him with mace. The witness said Winger pulled a small handgun from his waistband and shot at the apartment building. He then took off in a white Mercedes.
Winger faces several charges including 2 felony counts of discharging a firearm with injury.
He was arrested on August 3rd after a police chase.
