TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (ABC4 News) – Detectives with Unified Police have identified the second suspect wanted in the shooting death of a Taylorsville man in December.
Police are now looking for 36-year-old Shawn Eugene Fleming, who has distinct tattoos on his neck. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Police already have one suspect, 49-year-old Tonita Vianay Espinoza in custody after the shooting at 700 West Sunny River Road on Dec. 10.
According to police records, Espinoza said the victim,”TJ” Toussaint Tyler, owed her money so she sent to guys to “intimidate him into paying her money”.
Police say Espinoza knocked on the apartment door while the two male suspects waited around the corner. Once the door was opened the two male suspects forced their way inside the apartment, according to UPD. They say Espinoza did not enter the apartment.Police were looking for three possible suspects:
- A tall African American male in his 40s, wearing a black beanie. Construction style jeans (later identified as Fleming)
- A short Hispanic male in his 20s – 30s wearing black clothing. Construction style jeans (Not identified)
- A female wearing a black and red hooded sweatshirt, light colored pants.(Identified as Espinoza)
Detectives said they tracked down the woman from the previously-release surveillance footage. Police records say they were tipped off by an informant. The informant said Espinoza told them the incident “went horribly wrong and not as planned”.
Detectives say they also executed a search warrant related to the case.
Officials have not provided information regarding the identity of the third man involved.
