Police identify elderly man killed in Ogden

OGDEN, Utah (News4Utah) – Police released the identity of an elderly man whose body was found in an alley in Ogden.

Investigators identified the victim as 74-year-old David Marvin Paulson. They have not been able to find a next of kin. Anyone with information, in this case, is asked to contact Ogden Detective Wilson at (806) 629-8257.

Paulson’s body was discovered Monday morning near the 2600 block of Monroe Ave. Jose Robert Zamora, 22, was arrested in connection with the man’s death.

He was charged with murder and obstruction of justice.

According to the probable cause statement, police were led to Zamora after several witnesses told them they had seen him in the area the night before.

Probable cause statement also indicates alleged misconduct involving the suspect’s daughter as a possible motive. 

“He stated that [the victim] had followed his daughter in the past and that one night he had seen [the victim] peeking into his daughter’s window,” the probable cause statement read.
