Police dispel rumors about attempted child abduction

SPANISH FORK, Utah (News4Utah) – Rumors began swirling around social media about a possible attempted child abduction in Spanish Fork.

Friday, Spanish Fork police released a statement to put the rumors to rest.

Police say they did receive a delayed report about the “suspicious” incident at a Walmart in Spanish Fork. The reporting party told police the incident was “unusual” and caused her alarm, but the people in question “made no attempt to speak to or take the child.”

The reporting party and her child are safe. Police say they CANNOT confirm this was a case of someone trying to abduct a child.
