Police clear scene of barricaded man in Salt Lake City

UPDATE (5/6/19) – Police in Salt Lake City made the decision to leave the man inside the home and clear the scene. 

According to Salt Lake Police, the man was not a threat to others and wanted police to harm him so after a few hours of attempting to work with the man, they left, rather than continue to negotiate and take any risk the man could be hurt. 


SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – Police in Salt Lake City are currently on scene of a barricaded suspect at a home in Salt Lake City Monday afternoon. 

According to a post on the Salt Lake City Police Department’s Twitter account, the home is in the area of West Temple and Goltz Ave (approx 1150 south). 

Please avoid the area until further notice. 

An update will be provided once more information is released.
