Police chase ends with a crash and fire

WOODS CROSS, Utah (News4Utah) – A police pursuit ended with a car crash and fire early Friday morning in Davis County, according to officials.

Authorities say the pursuit was preceded by a robbery at a 7-Eleven on 490 N and Redwood road at knifepoint. 

The suspect fled the scene in a Honda on I-80 w to I-215 and then legacy parkway, officials say. 

Police chased the suspect until he crashed in Bountiful Woods Cross just north of Legacy Parkway according to authorities.

Officials say the suspect took the 500 South exit, which is where they crashed causing the car to be fully engulfed in flames.

Officers were able to quickly extricate him and likely saved his life, according to authorities.

Police say the suspect may have a broken leg and was transported to the hospital.
