Police arrest man in fatal Magna stabbing

MAGNA, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – One man is dead after stabbing in Magna late Friday morning. 
 
Unified Police Officers responded to a Shell Gas Station at 7210 West 3500 South just before noon on report of stabbing. When first responders arrived, they found Eugene, Rowland, 29, with multiple stab wounds. 
Rowland was rushed to the hospital, but he later died of his injuries. 
 
 
Witnesses were able to describe the suspect and the vehicle he was driving. Later in the afternoon, detectives, arrested Jose Hernandez at his home in West Valley City. Hernandez was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on one count of first degree murder. 
 
Investigators are still working to determine the motive for the murder. It is not considered gang-related. Police say it known that the suspect and victim knew each other and had disagreements in the past few weeks which may have led to the violent encounter Friday.
