SUMMIT COUNTY (ABC4 News) – Summit County Attorney’s Office announced it has filed a petition in connection with a recent incident at Park City High School.
On April 1, a student released pepper spray inside a room, forcing the evacuation of the building and causing numerous students and teachers to be treated by medical personnel.
Park City fire officials reported 19 people complained of respiratory distress, burning in their lungs, and abdominal cramping after exposure to the substance that was later determined to be pepper spray.
School district officials said a student later confessed to releasing the pepper spray.
Because the student is a juvenile, the name of the accused will likely not be released. Summit County Sheriff’s Office declined to shared anymore more information regarding the case.
