PROVO (ABC4 News) – About 130 patients moved into the new Pedersen Patient Tower at Utah Valley Hospital on Sunday as part of the hospital’s expansion opening.
Patients were moved from the old areas of the hospital to the new tower every three minutes.
The new emergency department in the Pedersen Tower also opened for patient care on Sunday.
The opening of the Pedersen Patient Tower represents significant completion of the hospital replacement project that began in June 2015.
The $430 million replacement project will enable Utah Valley Hospital to better serve patients by replacing aging building with new facilities.
