PARK CITY, Utah (News4Utah) – The Park City School Board has voted to spend nearly $900,000 on a home for the superintendent.

Park City School District’s new superintendent, Dr. Jill Gildea, will take home a base salary of $235,000.

As of Tuesday night, she now knows where she will live.

“Any time you’re brining quality people in, there’s a price with that,” said Todd Hauber, business administrator for Park City School District.

“And, our school board was wiling to put forward what was necessary to bring that top quality to the school district,” added Hauber.

Hauber says the district hired a consulting firm to help them find a new superintendent.

He says the district was advised that buying a home could incentivize top talent to come to Park City.

According to the latest numbers from Park City Multiple Listing Service, the average price for a single family home inside the district is roughly $1.8 million.
