UTAH COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) – Multiple ducks and geese were found dead along the Spring Creek Place Road in Springville, according to officials.

The Division of Wildlife Resources said they received a call from a concerned citizen and when they got to the scene, they found more than 30 ducks and geese along the waterway between Flow Serve and the Little Giant Ladder plant.

Officers found several of the ducks had been shot with a pellet gun; most of them were domestic birds, wildlife officials said.

DWR officials said they were unable to determine the cause of death of all the birds they found because many of them were in various stages of decay.

Authorities are investigating the incident and suspect that this may have been an ongoing issue.

If you have any information related to this illegal killing or information that might help officers identify a suspect, please call the Utah Turn-in-a-Poacher hotline at 1-800-662-3337.
