Orem man calls police on himself claiming he had just sexually abused a 7-year-old girl

OREM, Utah (ABC4 News) – An Orem man was arrested and booked into jail after he called dispatch claiming to have sexually abused a 7-year-old girl. 

According to arresting documents, Steven Joseph Martineau, 34, called police Tuesday and reported the assault that had taken place that morning. 

Martineau told police he inappropriately touched the girl while she was sleeping.

Martineau also told police he had previously sexually assaulted the same girl when she was five and had sexually assaulted a 2-year-old boy a few years ago. 

Martineau was booked into the Utah County Jail on four counts felony aggravated sexual abuse of a child, from a Position of Trust. 

A records check shows Martineau has no criminal history in Utah.
