One person injured after shooting in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – One person has been transported to the hospital after a shooting incident in Salt Lake City Wednesday evening. 

The incident occurred near 200 West Paxton Avenue at about 10:15 p.m., according to officials. Police say some sort of altercation ensued that led to shots being fired. 

Officers said they found a man on the sidewalk after they received reports of shots fired. They said he was conscious at the time and has since been transported to the hospital in serious condition.

Witnesses told police that they heard noises and came out to investigate and found that one of the residents was fighting with some people and he shot one of the suspects. The suspects were reported to have fled the scene and may have had weapons as well. 

There are K9’s out tracking in an attempt to find the suspects.

Officials say they are looking for two suspects who are involved in the shooting incident.
