MIDVALE, Utah (ABC4 News) – A dispute at an apartment building early Saturday morning has landed one man in the hospital.

Sgt. Melody Gray, with the Unified Police Department, says an ex-boyfriend of a woman was pounding on her apartment building door. When she answered, the witnesses said he pushed his way into the apartment.

Another man was inside the apartment and a struggle between the two ensued. During the struggle, Sgt. Gray says shots were fired and one hit the ex-boyfriend in the leg.

When officers arrived at the scene, one of them had put a tourniquet on the shooting victim’s leg and transported him to a local hospital.
