One man is dead, two others injured, in ATV crash at Flaming Gorge

FLAMING GORGE, Daggett County (News4Utah) – One man is dead and two others were injured after their ATV rolled into the Flaming Gorge Friday night. 

According to Daggett County Sheriff E.L. Bailey, deputies and search and rescue teams were called to the crash that happened on County Road 17 early Friday evening.

When they arrived, deputies were advised that one passenger of a Polaris RZR 4 was trapped inside the vehicle, which had rolled into Flaming Gorge Reservoir. 

Sheriff’s deputies and search and rescue personnel attempted to extricate the passenger for over 30 minutes.The passenger was extricated and pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel.

The driver and one other passenger were taken by medical helicopter to hospitals in Ogden and Salt Lake City.

The crash is still under investigation. The condition the other two men is unknown and the name of the man who died has not been released.
