NEPHI, Utah (News4Utah) – A Mona man is dead after a crash with train Tuesday.

Juab County Sheriff’s Office responded Sheep Lane Drive around 1 p.m. on report of a crash involving a commercial dump truck and a train.

Deputies say the truck was traveling west on Sheep Lane Drive and was struck by a northbound train.

The driver of the dump truck died in the crash. He was identified as David Stubbs, 27, of Mona, Utah. Stubbs was a driver for Taurus Plumbing & Excavation in Nephi.

The train consisted of three locomotives and three empty cargo cars. There were four people on board the train at the time of the crash. Deputies described them as “visibly shaken,” but none of them were injured.

Investigators say the train crossing does not have crossing arms or warning lights. Officials say there have been “no significant incidents on his crossing for many years.”

The crash is still under investigation.
