LOGAN, Utah (ABC4 News) – Emergency crews and a medical helicopter responded to a serious crash on U.S. Highway 89 in Logan Sunday afternoon.
Chief Gary Jensen with Logan City Police said the crash happened around 1:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 89 near 2300 South.
A gray SUV was traveling northbound on U.S. 89 when they driver fell asleep at the wheel and drifted into the southbound lanes hitting a white SUV, Jensen says.
Both vehicles rolled when colliding, the gray SUV was carrying 5 people who were all transported via ambulance to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The white SUV was carrying three people, the driver was transported via ambulance in critical condition and a woman and infant were transported with non-life threatening injuries.
Jensen says the male driver of the white SUV has died from his injuries Sunday afternoon. His identity has not been released yet.
