OGDEN, Utah (ABC4 News) – Students were released from school after a fire at an Ogden area Jr. High forced evacuations into a neighboring elementary school Monday morning.

According to Jer Bates, Director of Communications for the Ogden City School District said the fire was in the bathroom at Mound Fort Junior High earlier Monday morning.

“All students have been accounted for and are safe,” Bates said. “Students were relocated next door to Gramercy Elementary school. Mound Fort students are being released to their authorized parents and guardians who arrive at Gramercy Elementary school only if they have proper photo identification. “

Bates said students who use the bus will be sent home on the bus at the normal release time. School will resume as normal at Mound Fort on Tuesday.

There was no interruption to the students who attend Gramercy Elementary School. No further details are currently available about the fire at the school.
