CARBON COUNTY, Utah- (News4Utah) All lanes of Highway 6 are closed in Carbonville after a tanker rolled over in Carbon County officials say.
Carbon County Sheriffs say the accident happened in an active construction zone on the Westbound Lane of Highway 6 near the Carbonville On-Ramp but the cause is under investigation.
The driver entered oncoming traffic, hitting the bridge, causing the tractor and trailer to roll officials say.
About 8, 000 gallons of oil spilled onto the highway and into the Price River below according to authorities.
Price River Water Improvement District is aware of the situation as is the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and would like everyone to know that the drinking water is safe authorities say.
Police, Hazmat and fire agencies are all on scene responding to the rollover.
All traffic on Highway 6 from the Carbonville Exit through Exit 240 is closed until further notice. Officers advise that you avoid the area if possible.
