WEST VALLEY CITY (ABC4 News) The weather is warming up and that means more motorcycle riders are out on the road.
The Zero Fatalities campaign kicked off Tuesday urging riders and drivers to remember to share the road.
Reports show 2018 was the deadliest year for motorcyclists in Utah.
State officials said motorcycle deaths in Utah rose by 24% last year — from 38 to 47 — for the highest increase in state history.
“Your brain doesn’t necessarily recognize that this is an object you need to watch out for. And so, unfortunately, that has been the cause of so many of these crashes that uh motorcycles are just not as visible as passenger cars.”
Officials reminding that it’s up to all of us to make and keep the roads safe.
