Officer injured, two suspects arrested following chase

SALT LAKE COUNTY (News4Utah) A man and a woman were arrested following a pursuit that ended in a crash Monday.

Tyler Lundell, 24, and Jessica Fairbanks, 39, were taken into custody and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.

Unified police said the incident began when officers spotted a vehicle at a motel at 380 West 7200 South around 3 p.m. Officers determined the car had been reported stolen.

Police said as officers approached, the driver fled. Officers followed the car as it went north on Cottonwood Street. As it approached the intersection at Winchester in Murray, it hit another car traveling east.

The suspect vehicle rolled several times. Police said Lundell got out of the vehicle and took off on foot. Officers continued to chase Lundell until they were able to apprehend him.

One of the police officers sustained minor injuries during the chase.
